Toy Dog Equipment

Toy dog leads use 3/32" leather, toy rings and toy snaps, resulting in a thin, light leash. 1/8" leather, with or without a core, may be used and will result in a slightly thicker lead. A swivel and/or a flat braided chin can also be braided into the leash. If a flat chin is required a core can not be used.

The use of a core adds strength, but has been know to show its ugly head. (See note on Leashes page)

Ann Stark (Pipers Whippets and Dachshunds) will use this martingale on her mini-doxie Mr. Longfellow (Henry). He doesn't require the flat chin or swivel. Ann has six Lyndale leads in her tack box.	Tena Flitcraft will use this delicate martingale with flat chin and swivel on her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Ella Enchanted .

	A lovely, thin lead, constructed for this very special 3.75 lb. Pom. Coltin is quite particular about his tack. Annette Sullivan wanted a beaded lead, so we attached it to his favorite nylon martingale. Problem solved!

Vikki M., from Alaska, designed a coupler/lead combination for her brace of Standard Long Haired Dachshunds. The lead has a snap so it can be used with or without the coupler. The coupler has rings and slip knots in place of snaps. Good job Vikki. http://www.akinukennel.com
Special dogs have special needs. Donna Fanok uses this "British" style lead with a swivel, leather slip knot and a permanent knot on the inside of the ring to prevent the collar from becoming too tight and harming the throat of her toy Pap named Kelsey. Great idea Donna ..	Cara asked for a "British" style lead with a leather slip knot, flat chin, swivel and beading for her Havanese. A flat chin and/or swivel on a "British" lead requires special measurements.
